The Kids Voting mission would be impossible to accomplish without the countless hours donated by dedicated volunteers and supporters.

2009 Election  Volunteers

High School Students: 66% of precincts were captained by 46 high school students representing Asheville, Enka, Erwin, North Buncombe, Owen, Reynolds, and Roberson high schools and Carolina Day School. These students encouraged their communities to vote, managed the Kids Voting booths, helped at Election Central and celebrated our democratic process. 
 
This same group of students will meet again in January to address issues that challenge Kids Voting and participate in leadership training.
 
Dedicated Adults: 17 individuals and organizations adopted and worked as Kids Voting precinct captains including Altrusa Club of Asheville, Asheville Buncombe County League of Women Voters, Asheville City Schools Administrators, Beth Israel Synagogue, Carolina Day School Families, Claxton Elementary School PTO, Junior League of Asheville, Kohl's, The Links, Inc., Montford Community Center Staff & Participants Shiloh Recreation Center Staff and Kids Voting Board members. 
 
2009 Dedicated Educators: 

     Kelvin Cyrus: Asheville City Schools
     Deborah Goodwin: Buncombe County Schools      
     Ann Allen Weatherly and the Interact Club: Erwin High School where students voted on-line in their cafeteria  
     Susan Bowers and Susan Lifchez: Jones Elementary where students voted in their cafeteria using paper ballots while also voting separate ballot for the menu items of their Thanksgiving Dinner. 
     Stephanie Reagan: Asheville Middle School voted on-line in their cafeteria on Election Day
